Bye, Bye Barrack?
The democrats lost many seats recently, and the Republicans gained many. It looks like Steven Colbert was right and many Democrats are out of work now! The reason all of this happened is because people were fed up with the economy, and the loss of jobs. In the next two years, precious little is going to happen. My reasoning for this is, if Obama could not get anything done with the Democrats, what makes him think he can get stuff done with the much less cooperative Republicans? Obama always seemed to want change, as he frequently states, the only think that will change in the next two years I think is who we have in the White House.

The truth sets you free...from a job!
Juan Williams recently recently made a remark about feeling "nervous" while seeing people with Muslim attire on a plane. He was promptly fired by NPR for his comments which were "bigotrous" by there standards, and NPR stated immedeately his views did no coincide with there own. Juan Williams was fired for saying something that any American with a care for their life, or their family and friends feels. If I was aboard a plane with a person of Islamic Faith, I would be nervous. People say that it is wrong to think this, but it is human nature. If it is politically incorrect to say so, than it is politically incorrect to use my first amendment right, but at least I will not be fired for it like Juan was.

Why I am a Conservative dot dot dot
The reason I am a conservative is because my parents raised me that way, although I would have been one even if I was raised a liberal. I say that, because I think it is very easy to be liberal, till it starts to affet you. AN example of that is politicians talking of using green power and such, but than they refuse to have windmills put up near their homes because it is "unsightly". I am all for helping people if they need it, but first thye need to try and help themselves. My parents are conservative becaue their grandparents are die-hard conservatives, more so than the averge right-wing-nut-job; so to my family I would be the "liberal" one.

Is Communism in the United States? Blog Post Five
1. Should we have a national Department of Education? Explain.
2. Address the weaknesses in the argument in the article you read
3. Do you think the Race to the Top Fund is a good idea or is it the Federal Government overstepping its grounds? Explain.
4. In your opinion, should education be nationally or locally directed? Explain.
1. THere should not be a nation departmnent of education, because if there is a single all powerful group that controls what is being taught by the schools; they have no way of knowing what each school needs to learn.
2. The article seemed to do alot of ranting about nothing in my oppionion, it was extremely vague about Bush's policies that supposedly promoted Communism in the United States.
3. I think that it is a good idea to promote competition in the states, simply because if there is a reqard offered than the "Race" may be taken seriously. Also, any money won can be used for the school systems for said State.
4 Education should be locally directed, because the locals know what is the most importnt thing that needs to be worked on, the national government has no idea what is going on in schools over 100 miles away.

The Government can't do this!
Should the federal government be able to force people to buy health insurance?
NO! Absouloutely not, that is an absoloutel horrenous idea. If we don't even get into the economic standpoint of this; it would be an incredibly stupid idea. The Federal government forcing people to get healthcare, and penalizing them when they do not do it is close to tyranny. Next they would be telling us how much to sell the food in the suprermarker for. It seems like a slippery slope of "helping the people" to communism (which we all know is not a good system).
Should the federal government tell states what drugs are illegal?
I feel that the Federal government should be able to tell what is legal drug wise. The FDA know what it is doing, and if drugs become legal; than things will go downhill very fast. And example of this is in Switzerland, the government made a legal drug zone. This was dramatic fail; and made an extreme amount of addicts, and the government now has to pay for them to get rehabilitated.

BLog Post # 2
In my oppinion, I feel that the Constituition is still alive. I say this because the constituition has amendments to it, and if th Courts, or Legislative Branches wanted to; it could still be amended again. http://www.usconstitution.net/const.html

Proposition Eight Blog
1. The Judiciary Branch should be able to overturn a populary elected decision. I say this because the Judiciary branch is there to interpret the laws and make sure they are constitituional and are not affecting our rights that americans have to come to enjoy. If they cannot overturn a majority than they cannot truly protect our rights.
2. The judiciary may have been overrulling the will of the people, but I feel that it was doing the people a favor and they have yet to realize it. The constitutional ground for overrulling the will of the people is that if this is allowed, than the public schools will start telling how gay marriage is ok, and that it will start to affect the heterosexual part of society and that is not allowed by the Constitution. But it is allowed for heterosexual marriages because that is the way society is to be healthy as the decision said. A similar exampe of this is proposition 22, which made only hetero marriages legal in California, but the courts struck it down as unconstitutional.
3. I think that there should be a universal description of marriage for to clarify this for US citizens. But I don't think we should do that, just for to clarify. If it is written down, it would be like the Roman Twevlve Tablets; it could not be changed. As long as it is not written down, the definition can be twisted either way to suit whoever is using it. One instance where the government ha to make a universal law for all people is the instance in which the United States government made the child labor laws.
